Fashion Prize

I entered a competition a few weeks back hosted by the Australian Academy of Design and was gladly selected as a finalist! We were given a theme, "Y-chic" and had to hand in a couple of drawings, a mood board and a statement supporting out work. The process of it was pretty fun, although I'm still refining my skills. I attended the presentation exhibition last Wednesday with my best friends and my parents at the academy. There was a first, second and third prize and I didn't expect to win anything, but I was awarded surprised to have my name called out and be awarded with a Certificate of Commendation which made me very, very happy! They also gave me a little sewing kit.
My favourite work was by a girl named Maria Kim who attends my tafe. Her work absolutely amaaaazed me and I'm not surprised to her winning first prize! I have never seen any work so amazingly eccentric. My work is just ridiculously embarrassing next to hers.

Rachael and I with our beloved teacher from tafe, Sammie, who insisted we stood close to her so we would look like friends. Her support meant a lot to me!

Bye strangers.
